Vita-E-Selen
Composition
Each ml contains Vitamin E 100mg and Sodium Selenite 1mg.
Indications
Prophylactic Indications
On farms in known selenium-deficient soil areas.
When diets low in vitamin E are fed, e.g. diets containing high levels of moist stored grain or maize silage.
On farms where there is a history of vitamin E and/or selenium deficiency, as may be indicated by poor breeding performance, excessive transport stress, or nutritional muscular dystrophy (in young animals on turning out to grass).
To provide extra vitamin E during periods of heavy work-load (horses).
Therapeutic Indications
For the treatment of the various manifestations of nutritional muscular dystrophy (white muscle disease, nutritional myopathy) affecting cardiac and/or skeletal muscles, and associated symptoms.
Target Animals
Cattle, calf, goat, sheep, chicken and turkey and swine.
Dosage and Administration
For oral administration via drinking water.
Calves, goats and sheep:
1ml per 40kg bodyweight for 3 - 5 days.
Cattle:
1ml per 80kg bodyweight for 3 - 5 days.
Poultry and Swine:
1 litre per 4000 litres of drinking water for 3 - 5 days.
Chicks (< 21 days):
1 litre per 2000 litres of drinking water for 3 - 5 days.
Warnings, Precautions, etc.
Anaphylactic type reactions have been reported in pregnant cattle treated with Vitenium Injection.
